The Cinco de Mayo celebration will be from May 1st through May 3rd , 2009 and will offer a wide variety of events held in Douglas Park at 1401 S. Sacramento Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
FESTIVAL: The celebration begins with the Festival, a colorful, lively, and entertaining mix of diverse family oriented attractions, such as live music, food vendors, carnival rides and games. The estimated 250,000 people who attend the 3 three-day Festival will enjoy a relaxed, friendly, safe atmosphere and the opportunity to spend time with their family and friends. The Festival will feature live music performed by local and international talent. Vendors will be representing their most popular dishes from there country with an assortment of food and beverages, along with a wide variety of carnival rides and games. VIP Dinner: The VIP Dinner honors the civic leaders whose combined efforts help make Cinco de Mayo celebration a proven success. Held in a selected restaurant in the heart-of Chicago's Mexican - American community, the VIP Dinner provides a congenial platform for the recognition of all those who contributed to the Festival's success, that will conclude the last day of festival activities. All invited guest will enjoy an evening of dining and dancing.
